The Slocan Valley Rail Trail
Lebahdo Flats looking South.

Located in the Kootenay region of southern British Columbia, the Slocan Valley Rail Trail is an incredible recreational feature which preserves an important part of the area’s heritage and provides a venue for healthy, outdoor, year-round activities for locals and visitors alike. Walkers, cyclists, skiers and equestrian users can experience a sense of nature, history and community as the trail meanders through unique riverside scenery and past pleasant rural landscapes.
Comprising a 50 km section of former Canadian Pacific Railway land, the trail has been developed by Tourism BC as part of the Spirit of 2010 Trail network. The trail is managed by the Slocan Valley Heritage Trail Society – a local, volunteer-based stewardship group which was instrumental in making the trail a reality.
The trail is for non-motorized use only. Unauthorized motor vehicles, ATVs, motorbikes, snowmobiles and other motorized forms of transportation are prohibited.
Please respect private property and stay on the trail. Dogs must be kept under control and should be on-leash in areas where livestock is present.
